A decade of love

March 17th, Dave and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. We were lucky that my dad agreed to watch the kids for 3 days. We booked our mini getaway at the Riviera in Palm Springs. It is a swanky retro hotel with a lot of personality. The lobby boast dark hardwood floors, white large upholstered round couches. Our designated front desk concierge's name was Renee. He was a flamboyant gay man who knew all the best places in town.

Dave had called ahead and ordered chocolate covered strawberries and red roses. It was such a nice surprise to find beautiful flowers waiting for me. The room was just as cool as the lobby. Each room had a cool Andy Warhol esq, Marilyn Monroe painting, along with some more retro furniture, patios with beautiful lounge furniture. The best part was the separate jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and the huge walk in shower. The hotel spared no expense when it comes to decorating. The grounds had offered fire pits and some more lounging furniture.

We had dinner Thursday night at Spencers and upscale restaurant with a pianist. The food was great. We then returned to the room to crash - yes we are getting old. Friday we slept in and hit up the pool and of course pool drinks - lol. Then we headed back to the room and took a nap - because we could. We headed out to lunch on the strip and window shopping. Later that night still full from lunch we went back out on the strip purchased ice cream and strolled through town. Saturday morning , yep you guessed it, we slept in again, then headed on the road to get the kids.

It was a short trip, but we had a lot of fun. I can't wait to go back. Maybe a girls trip???
