Christmas in the desert

This year we spent Christmas in Phoenix. This is the first Christmas in 13 years that Dave has spent with his family. We all live so far a part, and since my family all lives in Southern California, we tend to spend the holidays with them.

Daves' sister Teresa lives in Dallas with 3 of her kids. She was not able to make it out, but we did celebrate Christmas with her daughter and new grandson.

Dave's other sister Anna hosted Christmas Eve dinner at her house. She made a delicious english style dinner (Dave's entire family is from England) along with poppers - which are basically these cool foil paper thing a ma bobs that  contain a paper crown and toy. The kids loved it all. It was great fun to see everyone wearing their crowns.

We had a total of 19 people for dinner. After a long day we headed back to our hotel. Put on our Christmas PJ's and crashed the minute our heads hit the pillows.  Christmas Day we headed back over his sister Anna's house. We opened presents ( I had brought a couple for the kids to open) ate yummy leftovers and had a hot chocolate bar, which was a success. Later that same afternoon we headed home so we could enjoy Monday completely at home relaxing and opening the rest of the gifts we had left at home.
